I haven't posted anything really heavy for a while and this is something I'd really like to get other people's opinions on. I must confess (whether it's due to being ignored and excluded a lot os a kid, I don't know) but one of my greatest fears is spending the rest of my life watching the people around me do crazy cool things for God while I never ( Read more... )

I wish I had words of wisdom for you, but I do not. What I do have is the VERY same fear as you, however, I have been chalking my lack of spiritual fruit up to a lazy selfishness on my part - if I could just be more consistent and faithful, then I would see God working more, which makes logical sense. It seems no matter how hard I want to try to be consistent and faithful with what I know I should do, I just fall short and make bad decisions (not an excuse, just a reason why I don't have fruit). But it does NOT seem as though that is the case with you... which actually scares me a little more. If you are indeed faithful in the areas I am not (like cold turkey sharing, consistent quiet times, desiring to disciple, etc.) and are feeling like you are getting nowhere, then my outlooks don't look so good ( ... )
