'why i should think before i act.'

4.5 hours to go, though the pa has mysteriously disappeared at this point. that's not a complaint.

there are many things that upset me about this country. i am confused at what garners respect and priority, often over doing what is right. granted, 'right' is highly subjective, but i think we can all agree that this just ain't right ( Read more... )

Wrong in so many ways... arcticpoetry August 18 2006, 04:49:39 UTC
....ok...first of all...writing as punishment steals my thunder, I'm trying to inspire young people to enjoy writing, not hate it. Why do people keep doing this.

Secondly, since when is football more important than say putting two people in the hospital, or causing someone to have permanent brain damage.

I'm actually pissed about this and it makes me want to send hate mail to this judge.

i know, it's ridiculous, right? the intent was obviously to injure someone, or at least cause an accident, so i don't see how the judge can put football ahead of punishment in this case.

Wow. That's sickening. I hope the families can get them in a civil suit, or they appeal this. That's just ridiculous.

"I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm going to."
it's incredible that the article started with this coming from the judge.
maybe his honor should do a little more thinking before he acts as well.

i know! the judge said he sees positive things in football. well, i'm sure those boys would get something positive out of having their asses kicked in jail, too.

A 500-word essay? That's peanuts. More than likely, they'll speak in vague terms and not focus their minds enough to fully appreaciate self-reflection through writing. The judge may as well have had them write "Sorry I fucked up your body and life" cards to the victims. At least that would be somewhat honest.

The people of Kenton should sack the judge when he's up for re-election.

it makes me sad that these kids are getting support and that there isn't total outrage in that town at the judge's decision.
