long-distance dedication.

i picked up a copy of steinbeck's east of eden a few years back but never had the chance to read it before now. and, of course, when i say 'had the chance' what i really mean is 'had the dedication to read a 600-page novel.' but that's not important now. no. because east of eden is the novel i am choosing to kick-off my very own winter reading ( Read more... )

Perhaps I should read it. Stewie was reading it on family guy.

Catch 22 is my favorite book, btw.

A wonderfull plan sir. The classic Bill Ball assigned readings of Anthem and Animal Farm may be worth adding to your list if you have not in fact read them.

Oh and if winter begins on 1 October, when does it end? 1 May?

i did indeed have to read those when i took mr. ball's intro class (101? 201? something like that).

and winter in brett's world is quite lengthy. it's the months when i have to keep my flip flops in storage.

Didn't you do an AP English project on Catch-22? I swear I remember that.

I didn't read Heart of Darkness either. I hated it and gave up, but I wrote a poem about how much I thought it was crap and Sackrider was apparently amused enough by it that he didn't bother to make me finish it.

Good idea, by the way. I may copy it.

if i did do a project on catch-22, i did it without reading the book. but i'm almost certain i didn't.

yeah, i 'read' heart of darkness the same way. i tried to skim what i needed to for class, but even that didn't last long.

I became a concientious objector. I don't know why he let me get away with it.
