Dude I just got done perusing candidate information. Great minds and all that I guess. I registered when I got my new license so I'm good to go, but good message.

I'm REALLY excited to vote this year. I suppose that happens when you detest one candidate with the fiery intensity of a thousand red-hot suns. Happy voting.

hatred of the opponent and spite are really overlooked as plausible reasons to cast a vote.

Hah. Nah, I actually really like voting anyway, but it does help me get a bit more fired up. :)

What sucks though, is that I can't seem to find much information about the people running for the local spots, like state reps. I guess they figure everyone just votes down partisan lines and doesn't actually care about what the candidates are saying.

i know. i found a link to a voter's guide, but a bunch of the candidates didn't supply any information, so i didn't think it would be helpful.

your county might have had a better turn out than mine. you can take a look: http://www.michiganfamily.org/votersguide.htm

you need to make your request by the saturday before the election -- plenty of time.

this link gives you the rules and whatnot -- http://www.michigan.gov/sos/1,1607,7-127-1633_8716_8728-21037--,00.html

the application for an absentee ballot and the address to send it are all there in seperate links.

i'm excited because this will be the first real election where i'll vote in person -- primaries don't count.
