[Canute found the library! In an effort to understand the world around him better he decided to look at the texts therein. To that effect he's sitting in a chair with several books arranged on a table next to him. Big Tractors, Wuthering Heights and Human Anatomy 101 are among some of the books he's selected at random. [A pause because he didn't turn the communicator on. ...He thinks. Maybe he did, he honestly can't tell when it's engaged period. Still he recognizes Denmark's voice so picks the device up. It's hard to tell since his face is a constant study in seriousness, but he is vaguely amused.]

Not quite. I am attempting to educate myself on the times. Shakespeare is?

Plays? On what? [Denmark said they were funny, but all that's coming to mind for him are religious plays. Which can be funny... some times.]

A-ah.. are you aware that your communicator is on?

[Since he feels awkward watching you read.]

No, but now I am. Who are you?

Ah.. I am the country of Japan. ...It's nice meeting you. [S-so serious.]

You do not even know my name and you already consider it nice to meet me? [He is vaguely amused, but... it doesn't really translate to his face. Or anything else honestly.]

I have never heard of Japan. That is not one of the low countries.

[ after a ye long pause, because England feels somewhat awkward ]

Are you looking for something in particular?

[Apparently Canute's good at inducing awkwardness.]

Something to familiarize me with these times. Attempting to affect them when I do not understand them would be ill-advised.

[Alucard is also drifting through the library. Every now and then, he pulls a dusty tome from the shelf and leafs through it. He passes near Canute... at the moment, he himself is puzzling through a book on technology.]

[And Canute looks up. He doesn't say anything at first, merely looking. Alucard doesn't look like a person of Canute's time, but he doesn't look like a person of 1943 either if going off Denmark says anything. Of course Canute can't tell where that leaves Alucard to fall on the timeline, but it's interesting.]

Are you studying as well?

[Alucard's eyes flicker from the book, to the man...and remain for a moment. Unlike many others here, this one bore clothing from an earlier time than his own. If this one had even come from a similar world.]

Attempting, yes. The subject is unfamiliar...

[Somehow he knows that feeling. Also, while he didn't see much of the other before, now that he came across him in reality, he looks familiar somehow, even though he can't place him.

He'll put down the book that he was carrying and keep standing over there, silently staring.]

[Staring isn't creepy at all Sweden :| But Canute does get the feeling someone is watching after a time and looks up.]

What?
