I would love to have a coffeeshop...managementprofJune 16 2003, 12:18:41 UTC
... that was friendly to entrepreneurs, and to small children. You've probably never been to the Once Upon a Child on Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst (they sell used children's clothes) but they have a little play area up front that's surrounded by a three-foot high wall, and inside are toys. If that was in the back of the coffeeshop, instead of in the front, and I had a sight line to it from a table with a power connection (and maybe internet access to a printer), I could bring my daughter for playdates with my friend the architect's daughter, and we could work on our business ideas at the same time, using my laptop. It wouldn't even have to be in Cleveland Heights -- we would be willing to drive for someplace that would be fun for the kids and fun for us.
I might even be willing to teach a few free courses for stay-at-home moms who want to start their own businesses, in order to bring you some coffeeshop traffic.
If you head in the direction of a coffeeshop/business incubator, please let me know!
