The healthcare bill will not save America, it's one bill and not nearly as large as some would like to claim. I wish it could, but it can't. Even if it had been instituted immediately, which most of it isn't

Re: Rush I hears he said he would leave . . .but Costa Rica? Did he really say he would live in Costa Rica??? I'd think New Zealand would be more his . . . speed.
I found the health care bill to be generally lackluster, though it's good that people can't be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions.
I think the big problem was that the people who were going to hate it would hate it no matter what, but it's not really great enough to inspire passion in most of the people who would have gone all the way for truly substantial reform. Perhaps the bill in this form was necessary to pass through the government, but it's quite a shame.
It's unfortunate that Canada was being used in so many examples of why "socialist" health care is a bad idea, too. Most of the weaknesses in our system (long wait times for some procedures, some technology isn't available in some places) stem from us being a very large country with a very small population, not from the fact that we have universal health care.
Though it should be noted that even in our horribly oppressive socialist system (snort), we still have the freedom to go to another country and pay for our medical care there, if we want to do so.
