...That was a Saturday that was.

Missed a photo-op at 11am yesterday, but I needed the sleep after the late-night lobbycon.

The Chicks Dig Time Lords panel was essentially an extempore advert for the book, but there was some good discussion about women in Who fandom (and I got to say that "Jackie Jenkins saved my life ( Read more... )

Was it ever worked out what the collective noun for the group of Eights was? :)

I think a group of three Eights was definitely a "Caerdroia".

I'm fond of 'a forgetfulness of Eights,' personally. Though brewsternorth is right on about three Eights being a Caerdroia.

"Jackie Jenkins saved my life" Obviously, I need to hear this story.

PMcG and Eric Roberts would obviously make a scintillating TVM panel, since apparently neither one of them remember it. At DragonCon ER said "I'm sorry, but we filmed it in like 3 days and I've done a lot of stuff since then and nobody really asked me about it until recently."

I saw the pictures of your Caerdroia meet-up, that was awesome!

That was my sort of offhand way of pointing out that, when I was a young internetless thing in 1997, Jackie Jenkins in DWM was the only evidence to my tender eyes that fans who were also female existed in Who fandom. (When I joined a fannish group at college some years later, though still pre-2005, the gender ratio was still overwhelmingly male.)

Er, yeah, they wouldn't be the most interesting Who panel ever (ISTR both Paul and Daphne were noting that Eric was very "method") - unless Yee Jee and Daphne were there to compare notes, I suspect. On the other hand, you'd have some interesting stories of what they've been up to since, I imagine...
