There's this special on Fox News Channel right now about the increases in costs of college, and are they worth it?

One thing that was shown, was that in the last 25 years, the costs to go to a 4 year college have increased by OVER 500%!! Some colleges charging 30, 40, even $50,000+ for just ONE YEAR! Ok, I guess I knew that already. But STILL!

Urgh! I have discovered that it is only worth it if you know what you want to do. I went to college and came out with....a worthless degree and a husband. But, if you are looking for a job, just having the school on your resume, no matter what for, does seem to make a difference. Apparently college makes you serious (HA)

I mean, when one thinks of college, are they more likely to think of solid education, or keggers and frat-parties? I guess depends on where they went. Like the UW in Madison, one of the biggest party-schools in the nation apparently. Rodney Dangerfield even filmed a movie there.
So how can going to a "party-school" be serious? XD lol Silly employers.

One of the things they did was talk to the guy who founded "The Geek Squad". He's a college-dropout multi-millionaire now because of his idea while in college to form a group of nerds that could help people with their computer problems. It goes to show imo that you still don't "need" a piece of paper to make it big. But it still really helps. And, he is going to go back and finish his degree before his kids get to the age where they start thinking about college. So they can't use the line "but you didn't graduate college, so why do we need to go?" lol XD
