You are going to talk to us now? I am all a flutter! :) Peter is a teenager, it is their duty to aggraviate us adults. I don't know what to do about Gus. Maybe you and Justin will talk and both of you will come up with a amount of time. I think Lindsey and Melanie are trying their best for Gus not to want to come visit. You ARE a great father!
I think the idea that you are a bad father is somewhat rhetorical.
It's like saying you aren't the best partner for Justin. Maybe you should never have invited him home? Think what you would have missed.
I think you are doing fine with Peter, as fine as anyone can do with a teen, but it's unfortunate it's left you feeling less than comfortable as a father, because you really seem sold on Lindsay's gambit.
I'm quite shocked by her emotional blackmail, targeted at both you and Gus with deadly accuracy. Bursting into tears in front of Gus? WTF? Of course, Gus being a caring son, how is he to take that?
I hope Justin will help you handle this, but you and Lindsay need to have a talk.
If you must, maybe have them briefly visit a weekend this summer, but don't let her do this. While it's hard for Gus to leave her and Mel, I'm sure that he wants time with you.
I don't think being a parent or a partner is about being 'good,' I think it's about caring and you care about Gus very much. You put him first. But this is just wrong.
Lindsay has always been emotional. Of course she does use that to her advantage sometimes, but then, don't most people excuse their idiosyncracies as being inevitable? Mel's idiosyncracy is being a royal bitch, 24/7. That is sure as fuck inevitable...
Tell Melanie and Lindsay to go pound sand. Nobody is a perfect parent. I think you are doing well with Peter and he is not your child. I can not think of anyone who would willingly take on someone elses teenager. It is hard enough when they are yours. Now go get Gus.
How do you fit throught the doorway with that huge.....ego following you everywhere?
I never said I did not like you, you were being an asshole and I called you on it. I thought you would never talk to me.
You know what you are a good father, asshole or not. That bond between father and child should not be taken lightly. Gus needs a strong male influence in his life so he does not become one of those elephants. No one stronger than you.
