I'm a little surprised that Michigan only lost one seat. Early predictions were that they'd lose two.
But then are these redistribution numbers final? Most news sites seem to guard their statements with words like 'projection'. I wonder if there could be any surprises with some apportionment paradox.
I wonder if the next election will obsess about Iowa and Ohio a little less. Both those states get far too much attention during election time, and now they both have less value.
Of course I'd love to lose the election college and go to a direct popular vote. Then obsessing over how a minority of people in a few states determine the presidency will go away. Though gerrymandering over House seats will live on.
