Oh, man, Brian, I'm sorry to hear that...that seriously sucks. I've known Widget as long as I've known you, and hearing that he's gone is...well, I don't know. Weird, yes, but there's much more to it than that.

I've only recently begun to understand how special animal companionship can be, so I'm not going to pretend to know what you're going through. That said, I'm always available to chat if you'd like.
