What was utterly galling about it is that without irony she took part in a sketch which began by imagining the first Sarah Palin press conference (of course, there have been NO press conferences, and there aren't going to be any) - and when she steps into the fake conference, she says, "I'm not going to take any of your questions.."
I guess she didn't write it or anything, but it takes a big lack of self-awareness (or a big F-U) to take part in something that skewers her for being the only major VP candidate in modern history who's never been held up to real scrutiny via a press conference, or an appearance on one of the (non FOX) Sunday political chat shows.
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking, that the bitch can stand up there and make fun of the fact that she's not allowing questions to be asked of her by the media, and playing to the big crowds of stupid fools out there that buy into this "elite media", "Joe Six Pack" crap she's been bellowing. I just hope with every cell in my body that Obama steamrollers over these people and they are diminished and that's that for a generation.
No more questions about evolution, no more Terry Schiavo situations, no more SUVs...the dumbing down period of the US is hopefully OVER.
The only political humor that's been funny on SNL has been Tina Fey as Palin and she's not even a comedian on the program any longer. The two who try to play the Presidential candidates aren't funny. They will do anything for ratings at this point since they aren't viable anymore. Let's hope to God that this will be over with in 3 weeks regardless.
The Justin Timberlake skit was the last thing I remember being really funny.
I feel bad for Tina. She's just doing this to prime the pump for 30 Rock, which I think is going to work in her favor, starting next week. I'm sure she was fucking pissed when this Palin appearance came about, you can see from the clip that she just waltzed right by her, which I loved. And Alec, well...at least he to got say that shit about her right to her face. I was pissed at him for even doing it at first, but this is all about 30 Rock, which in that context, I approve of, because I love that show. Hopefully more people will now watch it.
