Here's what I think...

...the oil companies ought to take half of their outrageous profits from the past few years and bail out the big 3 automakers, since they were in bed together the whole time anyway, keeping mileage low, not giving a crap about innovation, and all that. Fuck ALL these fuckers!

Find solace in the fact that eventually these oil companies will suffer as well when either we use up all of the world's oil supplies (which will eventually happen), or when alternative energy sources start to cripple their profits.

It's a small comfort, I know. Especially knowing that the ones who have made multiple tens of millions of dollars in the industry will never truly 'suffer,' no matter what happens to their business at this point.

I have a feeling that the last 2 Bush terms were worked out with the oil companies to let them make these insane profits, with little regulation and with fucking government SUBSIDIES (that just kills me) as a recognition of the inevitable coup de grace of Big Oil. It's coming, we all know it's coming, they know it's coming...think back to those secret Cheney energy meetings around 2000.

"The corporations claim that they need enormous profits in order to explore for oil - yet last year the Big Five spent only $10 billion on exploration, while dumping $55 billion into the pockets of their top executives and major investors."

I think that sounds like a good idea.
