Obviously good caps is a great start! When I cap a scene like this I step through the scene frame by frame. It's a good way to grab only the clear shots but it does take a lot of time!

I'm not sure what program you use...I use GIMP. When I discovered the 'unsharp mask' feature the clarity of my icons went up greatly. I'm not sure if it's called the same thing in Photoshop (if that's what you're using).
