I signed up to teach a course next Fall. It’s the garden variety “intro to college” sort of thing. A one credit hour course designed to help freshman with the transition into University Life. Several of my colleagues (at GT and beyond) have taught this-so I have a lot to learn over the next 8 months

yea, and introduce them to newsgroups, and online dating, (if you need help with interesting free sites, I can give you a few)

You assume they don't already have a blog and post once a week. ;) I'd add the requirement for using non-AOL speak. :P

Well, part of the experience is that they need to "discover" GT-- so I'd say do a blog but once a week you have to write about something you did or saw around campus---academic, social, just a short reflection or something like that
