Was this a job helped along by business contacts made within Second Life? If so, how helpful would you say those types contacts are? What is the best way to go about making contacts in SL?
Just curious as a professor mentioned a SL GIS group, and at this point any business contacts would be helpful.
I would not have this job if not for business contacts made in Second Life. Linden Labs' technology is not the most stable - but the power behind SL is the social networking and the ability to make connections.
Create an avatar, get it to NOT look like a playdoh stick figure and start joining groups that have your interests, going to functions and hanging out places. You can find all of those things through the search engine.
I would also recommend putting your profile up on Linked-In and seeing what you can find.
