Pinochet is dead. Without ever having to be held truly accountable for his crimes against humanity.

Hopefully, one day, we will be able to hold all dictators and their minions and ilk accountable for their crimes against humanity, genocide, war crimes, etc.

Indeed. I may not believe in an afterlife, but I hope that somehow somewhere these bastards suffer.

Personally, I like to think that all Pinochet's victims met him at the gates of Heaven and directed him to hell, where he is currently suffering in the knowledge of exactly what he did (because, in my vision of hell, all delusions and/or illusions are torn away. Violently).

Also, I share your hope.

I think you can't really punish people like him in this life because he just doesn't understand what was wrong with what he did. But I know he will get what's coming to him.
