See, for an RTD episode I actually thought it was pretty good, but then I do have a bit of a weakness for steampunk settings and the idea of a giant steam-powered Cyberman mecha was actually pretty inspired... though I was expecting the HMS Thunderchild to come steaming up the Thames at any moment.

I love steampunk settings too, and it looked fabulous, but most of the plot made no sense. It felt like it was missing several hours-worth of plot exposition.

OK, why did she get involved with the cybermen? Apart from being the matron of a workhouse with serious issues about 'wymyn', who the hell was she?
How does a 300ft tall mech hide underwater in the Thames? If the work to start the engines could be done by 50 small children in an hour, why all the elaborate ruse to get the kids there at all - why did the cybermen not just do it?

For all it's aestetic lovelinees and pretty good acting, there were far too many 'eh?'s for me.

What she said with extra briccy whinging added. ;)

WTF were the cyber-stalker/shaggy/chewbacca/cheap larp costume things? Did i sneeze and miss the hurried explanation?

Just how deep is the Thames? Will my memory stick kill cyborgs? We can kill cybermen with concentrated knowledge nowadays? Why did that other Doctor remind me of a theatre actor on tv for the first time? Just WTF is the fascination with Rose fucking Tyler? She wasnt even in it but yet theres a nod towards her........aaaaargh the whiny blonde bint. It was london in the 1800s, where the fuck were the ginshops, rampant disease, shit on the streets......ok ok I'm just picking now ;)
