I assume you already know of maintankadin and tankspot (two amazing tanking forums). Prot pallies unite! My pally's also prot, and she's got 2pc T9 now. (This 1 week after she hit 80, thanks to heroic mode farming and running ToC5, and the ICC 5 mans, thanks for the ezmode, blizz!)

Yes, I have my eyeballs glued to those, as well as Elitist Jerks and DominateYourServer, plus the Armory pages of several raid tanks I know =)
I've been a bit chicken about running random heroics. I was going to run with my friend (she's a raid healer), but she's been a bit busy trying to get her MBA thesis done with all the Work drama going on.
WoW has really turned into a Level-Your-Alts game... =D
You honestly shouldn't be scared of those. ToC normal is about the same difficulty (way, way easier actually) as H VH and H UK. DTK puts me to sleep everytime I tank it, so does Gundrak, at least they're quick. CoS isn't bad either, come to think of it. I still despise Oculus though! It's been super nerfed, but still annoying because people still don't know how to run it properly.
If you can tank any of the ICC 5 mans on normal mode, you are more than ready to tank the heroic instances. I think (personally) that HoR even on normal mode is super difficult compared to heroic Nexus!
I've never tanked anything yet... unless you count Sarathstra, Gigantaur, Keldonus, Chillmaw and the like. XD I've been farming my starter set, grinding rep and general putzing around.
