Have been thinking a lot tonight about name changes.  Let me sum up:

Over the weekend, a very dear friend of mine got married.  This morning on facebook, I noticed that her photos, messages and profile had changed to her married name.  Normally, I wouldn't have thought too much of this: she got married, after all, and she doesn't have a professional

I think it sucks that she got pressured to do it. Were that my relationship, I would have called the nuptials to a halt until my monsters-in-law acknowledged that I was a fucking person.

Then again, I'm of the opinion that one should choose one's own last name, so ignore my dirty hippie self.
