Running away nothing- I waited to leave Target until I got panic attacks, and it left me unprepared. I'd say prepare now so you don't get stuck in a situation that's even worse.
I think that when it comes to chasing your most creative, empowered, blissful self, compromise isn't always the best way.
I think that women in particular are under a certain kind of pressure to stay. To stick around and be servicable to their environments, or to stay where other people put them, or where others think that they should be.
It's not as socially acceptable for women to expect their environments to be servicable to THEM, and there isn't much precident for women leaving ones that aren't to find ones that are.
I think we all receive those kinds of messages. I know at least, that I do. And even though it might not be the popular opinion- I think that it is perfectly okay to go where you are called. And even though sometimes that might be read as giving up or running away, it can be much worse saving face somewhere you're not supposed to be than being passionately disreputable.
