It's not my fault that the youth these days have such a delicate constitution. And besides, it works very well as an encouragement. No one has ever failed my class, or gotten anything less than a B. I've very proud of my achievements, and so are my students; why aren't you?
If it helps any, tell them that I never intended to kill them. Take off a kidney, definitely, but I am a good enough shot to not kill them if I don't want to. You know that best, don't you?

It's not my fault that they are not strong enough to withstand my little speeches, really. And of course, that is simply this world - have you not heard of the phrase 'what does not kill you makes you stronger'?
Won't you be proud for your friend's achievement? I'm saddened, Lady. Truly, you might just break my heart at this rate.
I won't be so crass as to kill them off. Injure them, take a kidney or a piece of the liver - that's only natural. But killing is just far too much trouble.

Don't worry about it. At least the email that was sent wasn't as incriminating as it could have been. I can only imagine what the emails to other faculty are like.
Perhaps he's in a contest with someone. Then again would look bad if we lost too many students.
