It seems we're both missing a member of the fauna classification.

Lesson to the unlearned: cats are gods, everything else subscribes to animal classification.

Oh? But if one were to break them down to the very basic level, then a cat is simply a mass of proton, neutrons, and electrons. Not much difference than, say, a pile of waste to be disposed of.

Katan? Katan! Here, puss. Here, kitty-kitty.

[Cupping his hand to call with the hope that the cat will come much like a dog will, Eike scratches his head with the other one was he gets down on his hands and knees to look under bushes. Cats liked to be under there, right?]

Here, Katan. Come here. Who's a good kitty?

[sure they do! They also like to jump at intruding hands, hiss, claw and generally behave like the spawn of wrath-prone SATAN, if they're this cat. Have some more hissing. ]

[Ow-ow-ow! Pulling his hand back, he held his bleeding hand and various scratches that it now had. Why? Why, kitty? And just sits outside the bush now trying to coax it out with kind words instead.]

C-Come here, Katan. We'll take you back home. Don't be ... angry.

[Because, Eike. Because. Taking back the spawn-of-Satan comparison: this cat ate Satan, and is about to spit back the remains (of what was quite possibly a lazy mouse). Enjoy that too. ]

Never you mind. You've seen the cat?

How scarce an amount of free time you must have on hand, if you cannot even spare a moment to take a stroll there in search of your-- bashful, quixotic, and depressed darling.

Oh, indeed, do pity my unfortunate reliance on brave adventures. Like sand, or dust, or airplanes, or things that fly when they really, truly, deeply shouldn't - you're off and off to find the poor kitty, aren't you?
