It's been a month since I last wrote in here and absolutely NOTHING has changed, bloody hell.
I still am no further along on figuring out who to name as Captain next year. Well, actually, no. That's sort of a lie. I've got it narrowed down to... three, maybe? Which doesn't help, because they're all equally qualified for this! I mean, others would probably be envious of all those choices, but it's so hard! I guess I'll have to use the Slytherin game as sort of a test. Or let other people try and run a bit of practice to see how they cope with it.
I also have a little less than three months to basically review absolutely everything I've ever done since I was eleven. Well, it could be a lot worse since I'm not doing Potions or Transfiguration anymore and I'm only taking six classes (I'm not worried about Astronomy, though, it's been my best subject ever since first year and I've been cruising through Divination this year). But still. My marks weren't great last year and I know my parents are pushing for me to do well. They also know that I want to keep going with Quidditch after Hogwarts and teams don't look so much at your NEWT marks than if you can fly fast, score goals and outwit the Bludgers (I know there's more to it than that, but that's generally the basics), and I know I can do all of that, and do it well.
And it's not like my parents would be upset with the thought of pursuing Quidditch as a career, because Brian has, and so has Shannon, and they're both perfectly happy. Quinn too, but he went to Healer school first so he doesn't exactly count. But every one of my other siblings (except for maybe Shannon) also had good NEWT scores (and Niamh is going to get them too, when she sits them, and she's going to do well on her OWLs, too) so I don't want to seem like the stupid kid, you know?
I have a bit of a headache, but we have practice tonight, so I'll just have to deal with that later.
Eight days until the start of Easter hols! This week is going to go by so incredibly slow (then again, the entirety of March has seemed endless). I can't wait to get home.
I'm going to be working a little bit over the hols and Mr. Fortescue has PROMISED me that he's going to debut a couple of new flavours while I'm there, so. That's exciting. I'm also hoping to get to the Bats/Portree match while I'm home, so I might have to nudge a certain cousin or a certain brother-in-law to see if they can pull a couple of strings for me. I'm sad that the Kestrels aren't playing, but there's really nothing I can do about that.
Speaking of Quidditch, there's practice tonight (thankfully the weather's cleared), so I should go and get prepare for that. Cheers!
