ITunes gives me an 'Unknown Error' message without even trying to burn, Real Player suggested trying a slower burn speed. The disks I've tried using remain stubbornly blank.
ok. have you tried the old faithful way of fixing IT problems
1) Turn computer off and on again (refreshes stuff)
2) Tried a different disc in case that ones faulty, or couple in batch are odd
3) try and burn a none music track, just copy any old file to a disc. It will waste a disc, but if that works then you know the fault is on the music burning software side.. if it fails theres a problem with the actual burning, hardware, or drivers.. (least points you in right direction)
Seriously, in the itunes preferences box, click advanced and just have a quick check of your settings, ie if you're trying to burn too many tracks into an audio rather than mp3 format it wont do it, also that the burner is the correct one.
I'm afraid I don't have any technical advice, but I do offer you my sympathy. When I worked in the city, I sometimes had to go storm around the block when the computers flipped out, because the lawyers and accountants would not have taken kindly to a screaming office manager. *hugs*
