I have really come to a delimma. I think that I am the most neautral person on this whole war thing. And it totally depends on the day and who I'm talking to. When Me and my family are sitting at home talking about the war I feel like I am as liberalistic about my thinking as you can get. But on the other hand, I can't help but to point out the ( Read more... )

Well, during the gulf war we did try to assinate him, but failed every time. We did give Sadaam and his suns the ultimatum of to either leave the country or be killed, but they refused. Many of those bombs we did drop were directed at places our central intellegence thought Sadaam and other high officals to be. But, throughout this bombing campaign, we've destoryed so many landmarks and things so important to Iraq's culturn and past. Assinating him would be much more than "tricky" he has ovr 30 look alikes which he pays to have plastic surgery to the resembalence will be almost uncanny. Everyone is blaming the whole thing on Iraq and Sadaam, but, the thing is we helped Sadaam gain power, not knowing one day it would turn on us. Many of the weapons they are using against us are arms from the US military which we gave to Iraq to go into Iran and kill Persians. You talk about morals like Americans never bombed Kosavo killing thousands of civilians. Or how the CIA trained Osama Bin Laden, then he turned around, using the tactics we taught ( ... )

Kyle, you really do have a lot of good points. I do however believe that the war we are fighting is a mixture between morality AND greed. Sure, oil does motivate us, but i don't believe it's the solitary reason. And I definately do not back the US on a lot of their policies, but that still doesn't justify what Saddam is doing. I heard he has look alikes, but i knew of only five that had plastic surgery. Anyway, I really do see both sides, but I still am skeptical about Saddam Hussein. I'm sure Mr Bush bulls the whole emotional bullshit on tv to get US citizens to support what he's doing, but i still don't think taking Saddam out of power is that bad of an idea, it's the method that we use that should be the controversy ( ... )

I didn't mean to imply that Saddam should stay in power, and that he is a noble leader... I agree that he needs to be removed from power as quickly as possible. Like you, I also see both sides. I see a dictator who murders his own people without remorse. A man who rules with such a heavy hand, his own citizens can not speak out against him with out fear of death. But, I also see a country so in shambles that war could break them. I see bombs being dropped on cities so filled with ancient artifacts and briming with the past. I see people, men, women and children not being able to go about their daily lives, not being able to go to work or school, for fear of a bomb being dropped on them. Yes, we may have the most advanced military technology on the planet, and it's unlikely that we will drop a bomb on something by accident. But, no one can say that out central intellegence has never made a mistake. I see war, I see suffering, I see death and pain ( ... )
