go to control panel, then add/remove software. See if it's listed there and uninstall it from there.

That shouldn't stop you from uninstalling.
what makes you say that Norton is blocking your hotmail?
Just wondering so I can help you better.

i dunno. it's like my computer suddenly became posessed. it's this norton security thing that was on my computer when i bought it as trial software. i let the thing expire b/c i bought norton antivirus and didn't need 2 forms of protection. but i was on my computer the night before and all of the sudden the norton security thing popped up w/ a text box saying parental controls had been placed. i didn't think anything of it and just closed the box. next morning...couldn't check my emails b/c when i go to the hotmail site i get a screen that says 'this site has been blocked w/ parental controls' or something of that nature. i don't even know how it worked if i don't even technically have the software!!! :( and now i don't know any password or whatever i need to uninstall the damn thing :-P

Just sent you a mail on your hotmail account giving you suggestions. You might be able to check your mail at work (I hope).
But when I re read your problem I realised that it has nothing to do with expiry of your Norton security services. (My solutions address that issue)
But its with the fact that something that you did activated the parental security and can be turned off only if you know the password.

Hope this helps and your problem is sorted.
Need to look at your machine to be able to tell more

basically i either need to a) get a password (which i will have to pay for since they charge you to call the hotline); b) renew the damn product; or c)reformat my 4 month old computer.

i am SO angry right now. i just waited for 20 minutes to speak to someone w/ no hope...had to hang up b/c i don't have enough minutes to wait!!
