I'm presently at a sesshin (zen retreat) and really shouldn't be on my computer, but I'm a beginner at a more or less advanced sesshin so I'm cutting myself a break. Some brief observations (more to come at the end of the week

^_^. If I manage to get on the Chan retreat in July (which is currently looking like I might not have the cash for) it's a silent retreat and they don't even have a phone or mobile reception.

Everyone should be a beginner.

Don't do a sesshin that's shorter than five days. I highly suggest a full seven days. Whatever you do, don't do a weekend sesshin. Trust me. I'll talk about why later.
