Her lips were soft and warm, something that still caught the TARDIS off guard. After all, the Doctor was cool to the touch, his skin a soothing temperature when compared to the ever-burning Heart she carried within her, the fires of Time raging through her being. But the girl -- woman, she preferred to be called a woman, as her years were beyond that of a child's -- she shared the same warmth, the same internal heat as the TARDIS.

It was yet another thing they shared, it would seem, beyond their love of the Doctor. And though she disliked humans and all their inferiority, the old girl found she could not fault them their warmth. Or at least, she could not fault Reinette. Just as she couldn't fault the woman giving so much of herself for a certain Time Lord.

There was a great deal she couldn't fault Reinette for, she realised.

And as they danced, limbs and hearts and minds entwined, the TARDIS could more fully understand why the Doctor loved the woman back. And, indeed, why she loved the woman just as much.
