[oncoming_storms] - Water

You feel it the moment he succumbs to the water, the intense aching throughout your entire being, ripping at your Heart like nails, coarse and heavy. Where there should be the constant, comforting sound of his hearts, his song humming against your mind, you hear naught but silence. It echoes and runs for eternity, spearing through you and, for a ( Read more... )

It's been kicking around in my head since I watched the episode, I just wasn't sure how to write it. (The fact you were waiting for it makes me flail.) Then it kind of hit me this morning and this is what you get. I'm glad it made you think, though!

Oh, my God. That was utterly wrenching. You weave words so beautifully and effortlessly, it seems. And this just got more heartbreaking with each line, until that final resignation that cuts right into your soul. Oh, wow. I love when writing can affect me so much on an emotional level. Bravo! :)

Ohgosh, thank you. I've been thinking on this a lot and just why the TARDIS would have stayed alive so long after the Doctor died, knowing how attached she is to him and how much his death would have hurt her. I'm glad I was able to convey even some of those emotions and her reasoning for holding on.

It makes perfect sense, that idea of holding on because you're uncertain and want to believe. And I think what made it even more heartbreaking was even a modicum of hope was enough to keep her holding on, just that slight chance, to know what really happened, and then there was that slight euphoria when she felt the familiar heartbeat, but it was all for naught. Guh. I just want to hug her so badly. And now you've made me think about this and turn into a rambling lunatic, so that's further proof of how wonderful this is. :)

And while I'm rambling anyway, I desperately wanted to share this with someone who might appreciate it; it's from a Seventh Doctor BFA with Mel:
Doctor: "Well, my TARDIS is a well-traveled one, and we've been together for a long time. We've grown together."
Mel: "Hmm...like an old married couple."

...and thus endeth the squee.

It was seriously the only way I could make that episode make sense in my head, at least where she was concerned. And the only time you see her move is when Rose and Donna are both inside her, which got me thinking that she'd have 'seen' the insect on Donna, as well as how she warps Time around her. And unless it had a purpose that she could understand, I don't see the TARDIS letting humans hook her up, even if she is suicidal. The TARDIS isn't altruistic like the Doctor; she wouldn't stay alive just to help the humans, especially since they're the reason the Doctor is dead, damn them needing their planet constantly saved.

...woo, rambling /o/

...and ohmygosh I just sporfled so loud reading that little exchange. Methinks I need this audio!

It's the last song you'll ever sing.

OMG. OMG. I am crying. That was so completely moving and emotional. My heart breaks for the TARDIS.

I've always believed that the Doctor and TARDIS are symbiotic, and that one dies the other will follow.

; ; Don't cry! *snuggles*

But yes, I'm rather of that camp, as well. And it has been said that she'll die if he does -- I know Nine said something to that effect, and the TARDIS Manual mentions that they'll go off to die if anything happens to their pilot -- so it bothered me in "Turn Left" how she was still alive after all that time, because it didn't make sense, really. And this is really the only way I could figure out that she would still be alive after all that time and yeah. TARDIS ; ;
