Do you ever miss Gallifrey?

Occasionally, though it is rare. I miss my own kind, more. There is a certain comfort in being able to hear them all, either in the berthing cradles or the docks on Gallifrey.

Why don't you ever go back? Give yourself a little time with them?

I was to be decommissioned, Ace. If I were to return, I would be taken from the Doctor and removed from service. I am a stolen craft, do not forget. Gallifrey is no longer my home, and none there would want me. To return is a death sentence.

Besides, the Doctor does not want to return to his home planet, and so I will not, either.

Who is not a child to you?

The Doctor. The Master. The Madame President, if I am forced to be honest. Only those creatures whose lifespans rival mine are ones I generally regard as anything other than infantile. Not to say I believe your personality as such. You are among the wisest of the humans the Doctor has had occasion to meet.

Why did you let him leave me behind?

I did not do so willingly. I told him it was wrong. I told him to at least leave a part of me with you. Forgive me, child. Please.

You couldn't stop him? You couldn't warn me?

Were you him, would you have stopped? Would you have listened? Do not ... do not hate me, please. I did not know what to say. I thought he would listen for once.
