Resurecting the old LJ for a good cause

We’ll I’ve decided to resurrect my old Live Journal for a good cause. I’m going to use it to document my journey with bariatric surgery. I’d like to start with some reasons behind why I’m going in this direction. Good luck, Brigette!

Believe it or not, I never think of you as being all THAT much overweight. It never occurred to me that you would be "the fat lady" on the plane or anywhere else. When we went to Six Flags and you didn't ride rides, I thought that you didn't LIKE roller coasters -- until you mentioned that you used to fit, but now you don't.

On the other hand, we have my mom; she's always been a little -- sometimes quite a bit -- overweight, but in my mind's eye, she's larger than you are.

I guess that doesn't say much for my keen powers of observation, but there you have it....

In any event, if this surgery can help you to live a happier, fuller life, then I'm behind you every step of the way!

If there's anything I can do to help -- ride? shopping? phone calls? take care of the critters? whatever... -- please, just let me know and we'll get it done!

It's heartening that you don't think of me as the "fat lady". Jason has told me several times that I carry my weight well and don't look as heavy as I am. And I just received independent, unsolicited confirmation of that from Dr. Kennedy.

Thanks for the offer of help. Depending upon how things go, we may take you up on it. Especially the critter care part if I end up having to travel to get the surgery.

I am so happy for you. I know the pain of being overweight myself. I know how hard the struggle is and I wish you only the best in your journey. I know that this will change your life in all aspects and I want you to know that you will be in my prayers and thoughts daily. Good luck to you and I hope it is everything you are hoping it will be to your life.
