Lately work has been so incredibly busy and intense that I feel as though I am constantly bouncing from one thing to another...oh ya, that's because I am constantly bouncing from one thing to another ( Read more... )

I need more volunteers willing and able to help out in the daytime. I have some of the jobs delegated, but obviously there is still more to be done. I have also spent time this summer training volunteers to do some of the other pieces of outreach that I do, but unfortunately that has needed an investment in time as well. The bright side is that in a couple of months I should have 2-4 people that I can delegate presentations to. So, while delegation is good, I need staff and then the time to organize that staff...and oh, all without money, cuz there is none. Such is work in a non-profit

I am still at the same domestic violence program that I have been working at for the past 5 years. I changed positions to Directing the Outreach and Education program. In this program I am a staff of one but I have volunteers that can help out. Problem is they are usually only available in the evenings and they need some additional training to do some aspects of my job.

The one thing that is great about my job however is that even though I have this enormous job with way too many parts/tasks/projects my boss totally agrees that it is too big a job. So we are always having to prioritize things and decide what is ok to not complete right now.
