2007 in review
The beginning of 2007 brought much stress and intolerance in the form of the Mansfield hotel where we held the flea last year. The Masquerade Ball came off well but it was a lot of meetings and "discussions' with the hotel the weeks before and then lots of "negotiating" with the fire department the evening of the event. All in all it went well, we made money for the DV organization I work for and NELA decided to say goodbye to Mansfield!
Arisia was a blast with NP and we played a lot, yay! Lots of switching was had all weekend. DM even joined in the festivities the last night and socialized a bit.
2007 also marked the tailend of a horrible year of illness. Mystery illness diagnosed and surgery just a couple of weeks after the Fleamarket, the day after Valentine's Day to be exact. But a week later I was feeling pretty good, recovery was a breeze. Within a month I could feel the difference and had so much more energy. It took most of the next 5 months to really get back to a normal energy level.
April we went to Puerto Rico, my first vacation with NP alone. We didn't actually plan it that way but DM didn't feel like he could take the time off to go. My dad paid for hotel and airfare and amazingly we still spent quite a bit of money. But it was a relaxing and fun adventure for the two of us. Also in April it was LLC in St Louis with DM. DM and I went and left NP home. We had a good amount of reconnecting time.
June brought LR, it was a blast as usual. A lot less drama this year than last year. I gave NP to a sexy girl he had a crush on and he had a great time. Lots of relaxing time at the pool was really good for me too.
August we went to Black Beat. It came with some drama, but it wasn't surprise drama. Both NP and I had a great time with D/C and C, all their first times at the event. I had some wonderful conversations with C about being Latina in the BDSM community and being at an event specifically for the black BDSM community. It was experience I am happy to have shared with her. I am not sure if I will go again this year, but if I did it would be only if she were going again.
The rest of the summer involved lots of jet skiing and hanging out on the weekends. We never made it to the boat this year but we had fun in the water just the same.
This fall was all about nesting, B and I really looked into the house buying stuff and learned a lot. I am looking forward to buying a house and moving, it really seems like we can make this happen. We are on our way!
D/M, NP, and I entered the world of fertility. Nothing has happened yet but lots of hormones are being injected. That is all I will say on that.
This past year at work has been a learning experience. I am settled into my new job and feel like I am making things happen. It feels good but at times overwhelming too. I have received many accolades from my boss as well as colleagues outside my little office.
I am ending the year really busy with the Masquerade Ball and really tired from a lot of hours of work and stress. It has been a bit of a sad end of the year, but not surprising considering all the hormones. My birthday, marks my 38th year on the planet, whew, I made this far.
I am hoping for a 2008 full of changes...good changes, wanted changes. One thing is certain, I am beginning this year as I spent all of last year, loved by two wonderful guys and in love with two wonderful guys. I am a very lucky person.
