Ok, so I realize I haven’t so much updated about any of my time in Asia or my life in general lately. But the Asia update will have to wait (and in truth may not come via lj, you may have to track me down in real life to hear about it

let me know how that tshirt quilt is going! i'm going to make pillow cases out of my old tshirts and i need tips!

right now it isn't going at all but grandma is going to help me (which could be an adventure in itself because she is a much more by the book person than I am and even talking specifics what I am envisioning is rather different than what she thinks is good) but the general gist (to the officially grandma recommended way) is to

gather the t-shirts and select a uniform size of square
cut all of the shirts down to said uniform size
iron wonderunder on the back
iron muslin on the back of the wonderunder

and then I think you should be able to just piece it together and sew but she thinks you should frame the shirts with a non-tshirt fabric (which I am not a fan of because I don't want that much structure cause I just don't roll like that) so we are giving that matter some consideration - I will pass along further information as I gather it

and ps I think you will totally dig mine when it is done because it will be like 75% conference shirts that you probably owned at one time '-)

In case either of you guys is interested, Melody has gotten into the t-shirt reconstruction business and is making new shirts (halters and other cute shirts), skirts, bags, and all manner of other neat things out of old t-shirts.

lol you are one of them ... 3 couples in my life decided to get engaged while I was away and one of them I didn't even know was a couple when I left the country - insanity '-P
