Today I received confirmation that the decree absolute was granted, so I am now 100% divorced, so hurrah for that! I think a drink will be in order later today. Dunno how I feel about being 100% unattached to anyone though… apart from not wanting to stay that way for too long.

That's an odd thing to say. You'd rather be somehow still part of a relationship that went so wrong it led to divorce than be single?

I mean, based on my own experience of life, I'm inclined to think that anyone who can't stand their own company enough to cope with being single for a while shouldn't be in a relationship full stop; you need to be stable in yourself before you can make a good partner. Take advantage of singleness: it's a good time to take stock of yourself and work out what goes through your head when it comes to relationships. And understanding yourself like that can help a lot in making future ones more solid.

That said, however, congratulations or comiserations or thank-god-at-last-it's-over or some insane hybrid of them on your divorce...

Oh no, I wouldn't want to still be part of *that* relationship. Maybe it came across wrong.

And I am taking advantage of being single while I can. My own company is the best!
