You'll get used to the city again, and will maybe even start to love all the sounds and smells. I do. Even the mysterious screams. (Hint: thousands of gay men crammed into one space get very dramatic)
My favourite thing about the new place is the sound of the Carlton streetcar whooshing on the rails 75 m away while I'm falling asleep. There's a song called "The Sound of the Streetcars" by Royal City that romanticizes that sound, and for good reason. Whooooooooshhhh.
Have you noticed yet that every now and then if you pay very close attention, you can feel the subway rumble under your feet when you stand in the Sketch House kitchen?
The crossing light countdowns are relatively new. I think they're handy.
I'm already starting to love the city, I just needed a few adjustment days I think! Streetcars are awesome possum period. Everything about them is fantabulous. I have to try the kitchen thing, that's pretty fantabulous as well...
That was my boo-urns post, next up, my yay life post! --a working transit system will definitely be on there :)
City life has its drawbacks, the mashing of smells, etc, but be glad you're not in the 'burbs and have to drive everywhere, its crazy. I feel like I haven't walked in ages.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss Kingston (the people mainly) a lot. Well, graduation is soon...have a good weekend my friend! ~allison
