Complicated Plotting

The fic I'm writing currently is driving me a little nuts. Am so focused on character interaction that some of my scenes are slightly lacking in logic - my characters have to escape from a compound, bickering and bonding as they go. They try to walk out of the sewers and when that fails they turn to the old standby of climbing up the elevator shaft
