"are you betsy ross?"

I SWEAR I AM GONNA FINISH MY DRAGON*CON POSTS OKAY.

Here is Friday day! I was trying to do all of Friday but it was just too long, so I will do Friday evening tomorrow.

Friday morning started eeeeaaarly! Fiver's Flamingos were meeting at 7 am for a group run and I didn't want to be late. I think it was me, J9, Amber, Jess, Michelle, and Kris wickeddiaz who ended up going-- we just did two miles, looping around the perimeter of the hotels over and over. It was super super fun! I love my girls. :D There is some footage of us running in J9's D*C video, and also here is a mid-run photo (yes that is me, I just look like a crazy person):

After our run, we had another Bad Romance rehearsal. (Apparently some of the things I thought happened at Thursday's rehearsal actually happened on Friday, so just take the stuff about Jenn arriving and the celebs and stick it here instead.) Most of us were still in our running skirts, which looked pretty funny with our Gaga shoes:

Obligatory shoe shot!

I noticed that my shoulder was crazy sore from Thursday's rehearsal, which led to me informing the group that I was "going to half-ass the pounding" on the next run-through. I realized what I was saying as the words were leaving my mouth...and promptly fell over while everyone laughed hysterically at me. Of course that immediately got added to the D*C running-joke roster. We also spent some time writing our intro for the emcees to read, since Amber was going to go and register us for the Masquerade that morning.

Afterwards, I showered and changed into civvies. Rogue and I met up with Dad and Sean, who'd finally made it through the Badge Pickup Line of Doom, and had lunch at Moe's in the food court. It was crazy crowded, so we found a corner of the floor to sit and eat and discuss plans. Afterward, we went back up to 10, where a gaggle of Disney princesses had gathered:

There were Snow White costumes too:

Amber needed some footage of the Disney people for her D*C vid, so I volunteered for cameraperson duty. When that was done, I introduced everyone to Dad and Sean, and then everyone left to get some Vader Vator footage.

I'm a little fuzzy on what exactly happened after that, but Rogue was texting with CJ a bunch, trying to figure out when we could meet up in our Guild "Game On" costumes, and we wound up over at the Walk of Fame. We walked around and celebrity-gawked for a bit, and eventually CJ showed up in his Vorkshnu costume. I love this pic of him hugging Rogue hello:

CJ said he'd be in costume awhile, and he wanted to go surprise Jeff Lewis & Sandeep Parikh (Vork and Zaboo from The Guild) in his costume, so he agreed to wait while Rogue and I went up and changed into our costumes really quickly. We made it up and back down in something like 10 minutes, which has to be a record. We went over to the Guild table and Jeff was signing for another fan, so we just waited until he finally looked up. When he finally noticed CJ, his expression was *priceless.* (They know each other, and CJ hadn't told Jeff he was doing the costume.) A couple of pics:

We also got some shots of me and CJ together as Bollywood Tink and Vork:

Funny story: while Jeff and CJ were taking pictures, Sandeep came out from behind the table too, and eventually he turned to me and asked, "That's a nice outfit, what's it from?" and I was like "...your video?" and he went "Oh! OH! Of course!" which was pretty hilarious.

CJ had rigged his extra arms so he could twitch the upper ones. It was awesome but slightly creepy. Rogue got a great video of CJ twitching and me jingling:

Hm, more lost time...we had to go back up to the room to change again, since Renaissance Justice League was meeting at 4 pm. Jen (aviendiora) had been sewing basically nonstop since she arrived to try and finish her Ice costume in time, and she was almost done. In fact, she asked me if I needed any help with my costume, so I assumed she *was* done, and gratefully accepted her help in sewing some attachment loop thingies. (I should note that Jen was the reason I even had a JLR costume at all-- I ran out of time to make my Hawkgirl dress, and she offered to loan me her green Elizabethan noble. I just added a red panel to cover the original forepart and bought a leather hawk mask on Etsy, and boom! Instant costume.) And *then* she and Bryan helped me get dressed. Great friends, or greatest friends?

Once she had me squared away, Jen started to get dressed, but realized she had a problem in that she hadn't had time to put grommets in the overgown, so there was no way to lace it shut. Without saying a word, I got my gaffer's tape off the end table, tore off a longish piece, walked over to Jen, and taped the two sides of her gown together. Two more pieces and the overgown was completely secured. Then Bryan and I pinned on the bodice front thingy (IDK what to call it) which hid the gaff, and hey presto! Jen had a done-enough costume:

Downstairs, we met up with our whole Renaissance Justice League group, which included a surprise Renaissance Robin appearance by Cheralyn! Rogue was very excited to have a sidekick:

(Cheralyn had to leave early, and Rogue told her, "When you come back, you better be Renaissance Nightwing!")

Our group got a pretty good response-- not everyone got it, but we got a lot of picture requests. I think J9 as Wonder Woman was the most recognizable; there were a couple of times where people would look at us, then look at her, then look back at us (I'm on a horse) and you could see the recognition dawn on their face. We slowly made our way out of the Marriott and into the office-building-ish area that's before the skywalk to the mall, where we recorded some footage for J9's awesome D*C video:

Then it was time for dinner at Max Lager's! On the way, we discovered a gazebo that was perfect for taking group pictures:

Dinner featured tasty food and drink (mmm cider) and of course, excellent company. We had fun with the weird shadows that were coming in from the late afternoon sun:

And there was a huge American flag on one of the walls, which of course begged for some pictures:

As we left, we got a picture with some of the restaurant employees:

And on the way back to the hotels, we took MOAR PHOTOS at the Suntrust steps. The wind was really blowing and we got some great (and some hilarious) shots:

ALL SHALL LOVE WONDER WOMAN AND DESPAIR!!!

Hawkgirl doesn't need any stinkin' Red Bull to give her wings:

Rogue and J9 very kindly went along with my demented shippiness (even if they don't get it at all and were giggling the whole time):

And then of course the slash writes itself-- we were like "JUST A LITTLE CLOSER"

Cannot keep a straight face:

I FREAKING LOVE THIS PICTURE:

(Here's what it looked like from my camera. HA HA it looks like I have a gap in my teeth:)

Once we got back, we all split up to back to our rooms and change. On the one hand, it was sad to not wear those costumes for very long. On the other hand, I don't think I could've worn my heavy dress for very much longer, and I'd been sitting for half the time I was in it.

But now it was time for GAGA GLEE!!! ...which will be continued in the next post since this one is already ridic long.
