Harvest Moon.

Could somebody tell me please, somebody very scientifically inclined, why the moon looks so unusually large at Harvest Moon time?
And orange?

Thanks.

I was always told our axis at that time of the year was tipping towards
the moon. If you have ever seen the moon rise on the equator it is has
a similarly seemingly large shape, because their location on the globe
is closer to the moon.

Sorry if this is a some-what private journal.

No, not private at all. Thank you very much, Mr. Did you see the same phenomenon that I witnessed, Mr.?
Much many thanks.

Yes, Miss. Molly, I received Carlos' e-mail.

Hmm...is this Karla Webster? This is Jonathan Brookbank. Just trying to get some more friends for my LJ and I found yours through a friend of a friend or something of that nature. If it is Karla Webster do you mind if I add you to my friends list?

the moon thing...
the orange is from pollution in the atmosphere
and
the magnification is from the moon shining through a thicker layer of our atmosphere.

You are all so silly. It's made of cheese. I must be the only man of science on this crazy thing!
