The boy part:
I went through the stages of grief that unbelievable morning-denial (even if the news broke from Adrian Wojnarowski), anger, bargaining, depression, and reluctant acceptance. But I'm sure that was nothing compared to what Perk and the boys must have felt.
I'm just going to let off some steam here after reading comments from non-Celtics fans that the trade will work in everyone else's favor but the C's, after the Perk-less C's let the title slip away in two games in the last Finals. I've also read others speculate that Perk's injury was worse than advertised, which is why Danny Ainge let him go. They don't know the team well enough that it only happened because Marquis Daniels, Paul Pierce's back-up, is potentially out for the rest of the season. It's less about Perk's injury, and it was all about Quis's. I knew Nate Robinson would be traded away, in light of his ineffective season, but would you find a team who's willing to give up an important player and receive solely Nate Robinson in return? Nope, didn't think so. I love Perk, and losing him is a heart-breaker, but I have to agree with the ESPN commentators' favorite line, "good D, better O". Ainge's idea was to preserve the team's leading scorer through June, if the script goes to plan.
Yeah, I'm ranting here instead of replying to those comments. I didn't want to dignify their stupidity with a response. Boys can be stupid. Sigh.
Bottom line, I wish Glen Davis was the one traded off instead. Stop shooting. Please. That's not your role. (ETA: Wow, I found
this article by a Filipino sports writer that actually sees Ainge's perspective. *gasp*)

- That game in Utah felt weird. The referees were making calls in the Celtics' favor, specially during the last few minutes of the game. I'm more used to cheering for the team that the refs are going against, even in college basketball. Now, there we can't ever get a break from the refs, who probably hate us for some social class grudge.
- After watching He Got Game, I'd actually say that Ray Allen looks younger now than he did in that movie. His cheeks filled out, so he now looks baby-faced. Bald guys aren't usually my type, but the look suits him. He got the most screen time as well, not Denzel. ...And would it be wishful thinking for Paul to take up acting after retirement? He was told during All-Star Weekend that he could get into acting if he wanted to-although I'm not sure if that was meant as a sincere comment, or a little jab by a detractor in Los Angeles. I need him in my life, and I don't know what I'd do after he retires. If he does take up acting, he would make a really great annoying sidekick. =P
- Speaking of All-Star Weekend-I forgot to mention this in my previous entry, but did anyone notice that Russell Westbrook's "scholar" seemed a little too happy when Stephen Curry won the Skills Challenge? Even my brother and I (and even the commentators, I believe) thought that she was Curry's kid, until the camera panned to show Curry's actual "scholar". LOL.
- I know I tried to set an example for my brothers by suggesting that we buy a new PlayStation 3 when school's over (mid-March), but, fail. We're getting one this weekend. I already made a downpayment.

This university memo appeared in my Twitter feed, and it was too funny not to share. I sure would hate to have been the one to make that discovery. *shudder*

The girl part:
- I have a real aversion to being touched which explains why I'm not really interested in having a boyfriend, so I'm surprised that I've been really enjoying getting spa treatments. It's pretty addictive, and I'm already checking the menu for what my next treatment will be. I don't even like having my hair done at a salon, but the spa, I can enjoy. It was a real treat when I went for a massage one time after work. I even wanted to get into the jacuzzi when it seemed like I was the only person there, but I didn't bring a swimsuit that night. But there were a couple of other girls who got into the shower room just as soon as I finished my shower. Drat. I know it's acceptable to strip down at the spa, and I'm comfortable with doing so with just the masseuse, but...I'd still prefer to keep my privates away from the public. =P
- I don't like chocolate truffles. I mean-I don't enjoy them as much as an old-fashioned chocolate bar; I want to feel the snap when I take a bite. Truffles are essentially balls of ganache, and my mom often makes chocolate cake covered in ganache (which was what I requested for my birthday cake)...so ganache is ordinary to me. ;)
- Enjoying a holiday from work today. Off to exercise, and maybe bake some
butterscotch blondies again, at my brothers' request.
