Can you please recommend me a computer system that will not have me wanting to become a luddite and renounce all technology as a lost cause.

I have just gotten my laptop back (for the last damn time so far as I'm concerned) from yet another failed repair with Futureshop of my not-yet-3-year-old HP expensive gaming/art crap machine.  Not only are ( Read more... )

Hey if you are not opposed to apple products the base 13 in mac book pro starts at 1,249$ and the base 15 inch mac book pro start at 1,849$. Portal 2 is available for apple to. They are good for video, photo and creative work. I don't know if the promo is still going but you can get a free 100$ printer to with a mail in rebate. I don't know what marrowind is but photoshop and word with office is available for apple as well. I have had only mac books for computers and they have all lasted forever. The only reason I get a new one is that they just become to old to keep up with the new programs. I still use them and one is over 10 years old so they are pretty reliable.

Also if a new mac is a bit to expensive, look in to a refurbished mac. They are cheaper and come with the same warrantee as a new mac does. They are pretty much new. The choices are vary since some of them were up graded units but at a good choice if you are on a budget. I know some people who only buy refurbished Macs and I have mostly heard good things.

Dell is an excellent choice.

You'll probably want something with at least 4GB of RAM, 500GB+ hard drive. At least an i5 or i7 processor.

You're Operating System will be 64-bit, make sure that your tablet has drivers that will work, or that you can get new drivers for the new OS (Windows 7).
