There's something about the weather today that makes me think about freshman year. Which makes me think about laurelar. Or maybe there's something about this weather that makes me think about her, which makes me think about freshman year. There isn't much difference in my memory really

Since I've been married to Julie I've had dreams about Ida, a woman I had a relationship with for a half year and about whom I have almost no positive memories. Mostly, I am married to her now, remembering Julie and wondering why I'm no longer married to her. They're not fun dreams.

Last night I dreamt about a girl I wanted but never had, before Ida. I don't know why these memories remain so strong.

Huh. If something reminds me of an ex, within the next minute I usually remember WHY they're an ex, and that's the end of thought thread. Honestly, I rarely think about them at all, and it's always in a plutonic way (I wonder how Mr. X is doing these days). I do have certain songs and places that remind me of those people, but it's more just a passing thought of "I remember he used to like that song". I don't know if that makes me an emotional cold fish, but none of my exes play even a minor role in my life anymore.

Hmm. For some reason I thought you kept in touch with Eric.

Anyway, lest I give anybody the wrong impression, Laurel and I never dated. I very much wanted to, and I broke my heart just as much as if we had, but her feelings for me were never anything other than platonic, no matter how much I wished they were otherwise.

I talk to him maybe once every year or two, and I consider that to be minimal contact. We did go to his wedding, but left early due to circumstances that I won't dredge up here. He really wanted us to go, and neither of us wanted to (Note to self: don't ever be guilted into attending a wedding/family function you don't want to participate in). I think I've seen him maybe three or four times total since graduating, and all of those times included Lynette.

Any other exes I have even less contact with, or not at all (which accounts for a majority of them).

Now, if we're talking about old crushes, I think about those even less.
