Bleach 395 is all kinds of awesome.

Now if only FMA would come out.

So here's my question: Aizen asserts that hollows are only appetite, creatures without agency or choice. But Yamamoto seems to think that Wonderboy might have once had feelings or emotions, which at least implies sentience, if not intelligence. And we've seen other hollows display feelings, right back to hollow-Sora and right up to Nel and Grimmjow.

So what's with Aizen? Is he deluded? Is he wrong? Is there something I'm not understanding? That little piece of conversation really threw me.

I wouldn't call him deluded but he is an opportunist and a user who applies the best logic to explain his value system at the moment in time.

In other words, what he believes at the moment is logical even if he believes something else 5 or 10 mins later. Which is brilliant because it is a behavior that so many of us exhibit. When something suits us, we are all for it. When it doesn't (even if it is something that we supported not 10 mins earlier), we have the capacity to abandon it.

What I liked about this run of chapters is the shift between Aizen and Yamajii in that both men exchange that behavior. Yamajii had to destroy Wonderweiss so he justified his actions by blaming Aizen but the fact remains that Yamajii still did the deed of killing an innocent. A deadly innocent, but still an innocent.

I loved that.
