1. A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. It was awful and pretentious. Pretentious and awful. Awfully pretentious. Pretentiously awful. Bad. Bad. And bad. Too many characters. No one worth liking. And a chapter done in PowerPoint. I mean, no one likes PowerPoint presentations. Why did no one tell this writer that

Hey, I read 1000 Kingdoms too. Liked it a lot.

Also read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. I don't know if 'enjoyed' is a good word but it was a very fast and interesting read.
