I think I want to change my major to Writing/Journalism. Not only would it be a preparation for book editing if I wanted, but I also fit in much better at the newspaper than I do in the education department. All of my friends and colleagues are writing majors, and it's mostly yuckies who are English teacher majors ( Read more... )

Go with the major that you would feel most comfortable and enjoy the most as a career.

Hell, I STILL can't decide on what I want to do with my life. It's currently either writing or becoming an overseas English teacher (preferably in Japan, since that's where I first was introduced to the idea).

hmmm... Then you should REALLY talk to Julie because she knows all about that.You can also go into the military and teach English on the base. But then you should be a professional major and go for your education degree.

my brother is *very* interested in teaching english in japan. i hope he goes through with it. i know it'd make him very happy.

Go with what would make you the most happy. If you have to stay an extra semester, it will be worth it if you pick what you want to do for the rest of your life.
