Ah, well, I think that's what's fun about all these Pokémon. Each one of them is different, and they all have such distinct traits and they all grow and evolve in the most random ways!
I guess it helps keeping things from getting boring.

[Riku shakes his head and holds up one hand.]
Pichu evolve based on happiness, like all baby Pokémon. And speaking of Nidorinos...
[He turns the camera towards his derpy Nidoking, who, despite looking like a dinosaur is the standard size for his species at 4'6''. He's also trying to eat some raw steak and quickly tucks it behind his back, grunting sheepishly.

[Slacker grunts off-camera, and there's a sound of some frantic chewing, combined with more gurgley grunts. Riku takes a moment to look back, and then he covers his face with his palm.

There are a few ways Pokémon evolve. Level, stones, happiness, and trading. Some don't evolve at all.
