[The feed starts with a Pichu wearing a red handkerchief cape posing for the camera, victorious. She's standing on top of a fainted Drowzee, looking very proud of herself. The video moves closer, jiggling a bit-- someone's holding the 'Gear and walking toward the Pichu. The owner's arm reaches down and picks up the Pichu one-handedly] ( Read more... )

...Purple slime? No, I doubt it's sick. Quite the contrary, I think it's precisely what it intends to be.

[One moment, he'll just be peeling his Ditto off his arm now, and holding it up for review.]

Does it look something like this?

Yes, it does! A-are you sure it isn't sick?

Well, my Magikarp is taking a while to evolve too. Maybe your Pichu just takes a little longer than the others.

Ah, that is- yes, that could be it. I was just worried, since I've had Pokémon evolve in early levels and my Pichu still hasn't. [he looks so relieved!! ;u; thank you, jesus!]

[You are welcome!]

Ah, well, I think that's what's fun about all these Pokémon. Each one of them is different, and they all have such distinct traits and they all grow and evolve in the most random ways!

I guess it helps keeping things from getting boring.

Yes! They are different, and they have their own personalities. Some of them might look a little strange, but they fascinate me.

First thing you need to know is that not all Pokémon evolve by level.

[Riku shakes his head and holds up one hand.]

Pichu evolve based on happiness, like all baby Pokémon. And speaking of Nidorinos...

[He turns the camera towards his derpy Nidoking, who, despite looking like a dinosaur is the standard size for his species at 4'6''. He's also trying to eat some raw steak and quickly tucks it behind his back, grunting sheepishly.

Aaand back to Riku.]

You're gonna need a moon stone, if you want yours to evolve.

Wow... There's still a lot I need to learn about Pokémon, it seems. I wasn't aware they evolve differently! [he's still in awe at the Nidoking; he actually finds it endearing, the way he's so derpy.]

Thank you!

No problem. I've been here long enough to know the ropes.

[Slacker grunts off-camera, and there's a sound of some frantic chewing, combined with more gurgley grunts. Riku takes a moment to look back, and then he covers his face with his palm.

Right...]

There are a few ways Pokémon evolve. Level, stones, happiness, and trading. Some don't evolve at all.

I've been here for a few months now and I've still got more to work on. But I'm glad there are helpful people like you!

[and he hears the gurgling and the grunting and the chewing, too--] ...Is he alright?

...That doesn't look too weird. I think it's called a Ditto or something.

It's weird when you think you've caught one thing, and then when you look at it again, it's become purple goo...

Well now you have something new to train!

Mm, it seems like it. I have to admit I'm a little excited to see what abilities it has!
