It was almost like she had turned it into a game. A sick, twisted game that always ended sourly for him. Always, always right when Jonghyun would get Kibum all hot and bothered and the latter would begin to let loose, she would come bursting her way into their moment. They were literally getting caught with their pants down. Every time, the elderly woman would bark out some order for Jonghyun to run and do this or that errand before turning a sweet smile on Kibum and beckoning him to her sitting room. She never once commented on the situations she would walk in on, but Jonghyun could tell from the glint in her eye that she knew exactly what she was doing.

Jonghyun grumbled to himself as he shook the snow from his hair. "Who the hell needs foreign chocolate at ten o'clock at night," he said while kicking his shoes off, entering the house in a huff.

"Jonghyung, is that you?' The high lilt of Kibum's grandmother's voice floated down the halls. "Did you get it?"

It's Jonghyun! She was so messing with him and he was so letting her, because damn it he came here to spend quality time with Kibum and she was ruining it all. "Yes, I found it," he retorted, faking politeness if only for Kibum's sake.

After taking a deep, calming breath, Jonghyun allowed himself to enter the sitting room Kibum's grandmother was almost always in. "Here you go, halmeonim," he forced a smile, "Hope it's the right kind."

Kibum's grandmother accepted the bag Jonghyun held out for her. She shuffled through the contents, all the while shaking her head. "This just won't do," she muttered to herself. Jonghyun pretended he didn't hear her and quickly escaped out the door.

Jonghyun's cheeks filled with air as he pouted, lips pursed tightly. He wandered down the halls of the house, searching for his boyfriend who seemed to have up and disappeared. Eventually he spotted the light shining from underneath the bathroom door connected to the room they were staying in. Jonghyun knocked once before letting himself in.

Kibum had just thrown his boxers to the floor and had one foot prime to enter the shower. Turning with a flick of his bangs, Kibum's plush lips curled upwards in a sly smile. "I was just going to shower," he explained, although it was obvious, "Want to join?"

"Damn straight," Jonghyun exclaimed, wondering just how quickly he could lose his clothes.

Turning the hot water on, Kibum hopped into the shower. Jonghyun was practically dancing as he discarded his shirt first, then started on the button of his pants. He was chanting joyfully to himself "Shower time, shower time!" just as a sharp rap echoed through the room. Pausing at his zipper, Jonghyun turned wide eyes on the door. This couldn't be reality.

"Jonghyung, are you in there? I need you to run out for me again," Kibum's grandmother called, "Don't worry, Kibum can scrub his own back."

A whimper slipped through Jonghyun's lips. Kibum shot him a stern look from around the shower curtain that left no room for argument. Reluctantly, Jonghyun pulled his attire back on and stomped out of the bathroom

"What is it now?" Jonghyun spoke with a sigh.

"I need incense."

"Yes, halmeonim."

-----

Although there was a futon set up for him on the floor beside Kibum's bed, Jonghyun managed to crawl into the large mass of blankets and down filled pillows every night. He'd learned after the first night that Kibum wasn't standing for any frisky behavior in the bed after being whapped upside the head, claiming it was much too quiet in the house for them to do anything. Jonghyun just had to settle for cuddling against Kibum's slender frame and taking in the soft scent of his cologne.

"I think your grandma hates me," Jonghyun stated bluntly.

Kibum peered up from where his head was resting comfortably against Jonghyun's bare chest. "Why would you say that?"

Jonghyun stared up at the modern art painting hanging from the opposite wall. "She won't give me two seconds of alone time with you."

"Jonghyun, she's an elderly woman, she doesn't want to hear her grandson and his boyfriend getting it on," Kibum said with a snort, rolling his eyes.

"Then she sends me out on these crazy errands," Jonghyun continued to rant, "And she told me I'll get fat if I keep eating the way I do."

Kibum shrugs. "She's kind of right, you eat like a pig. And she's probably just happy to have a pair of young legs to run and fetch stuff for her."

There was no use discussing the issue with Kibum.

----

The next morning, Jonghyun jumped out of bed bright and early. There was someone he needed to talk to and if he didn't hurry he wouldn't be able to catch him. Jonghyun booted up his laptop and barely waited for the computer to fully load before logging into his instant messaging.

Jonghyun:

Jinki:

Jinki:

Jinki:

Fine, I didn't want to talk to you anyway.

Jonghyun slapped the laptop shut. He was going to show Kibum's grandmother what love and devotion could be, Kim Jonghyun style.

----

“Halmeonim?” Jonghyun sat down politely in front of the elder woman's table, “Is it okay with you if I use your kitchen tonight?”

The sharp old woman narrowed her eyes at him. “May I ask for what?”

“I want to make a nice dinner for Kibum,” Jonghyun said and almost smiled when he saw the flicker in Kibum's grandmother's eyes, “He's so stressed all the time with our busy schedule and on top of that he cooks for all the other members. So I was hoping you would let me return the favor to him, at least this once while he's out for the day shopping, so I can surprise him.”

Kibum's grandmother couldn't ignore a request that would make her grandson happy. “I suppose it's okay if you use the kitchen tonight, then,” she relented, nodding stiffly.

Jonghyun bowed in thanks, but didn't stand up just yet. “I'm going to be going to the grocery store, is there anything you need?”

She looked caught off guard. “Well, I have a shopping list right here,” she shuffled through a small pile beside her and withdrew a scrap of paper, “Let me just get you some money - “

“That won't be necessary,” Jonghyun cut in, putting his hand up, “I'll cover it.”

“No, no,” she protested, but Jonghyun took the list from her and strode out the door, only pausing to bow in good bye.

----

It took forever for Jonghyun to prepare dinner. Not only was he an amateur at cooking, but he also had no idea where anything was in the vast sea of cabinets in Kibum's grandmother's kitchen. Finally, he got Kibum's favorite dish ready, some kind of Italian noodles recipe he couldn't pronounce, and was setting a candle lit table when a high pitched cry broke out. He smiled proudly, knowing what was coming before the pair of arms wrapped tightly around him.

“You're amazing!” Kibum gushed, pulling away from Jonghyun to take in the meal. “Oh, my favorite!”

Jonghyun left a light kiss on Kibum's lips before pulling his boyfriend's chair out for him to sit in. “I hope you're hungry, I made dessert, too.”

Kibum eyed him with a devilish glint in his eyes. “Does dessert happen to be about 170 centimeter's tall with a rock hard bod and beastly skills in bed?”

“Nope.” Jonghyun jumped from his seat and popped a chocolate mousse pie from the fridge, “But it was made with reduced sugar!”

“Oh,” Kibum utters, caught off guard by the uncharacteristic reaction. Normally Jonghyun was all over his teasing, hoping it would lead to just what Kibum was implying. “Thanks, baby.”

Cutting a generous portion of the pie, Jonghyun was sure not to make a mess as he delicately moved the slice of pie to one of Kibum's grandmother's fine China plates. Pulling his own chair closer, Jonghyun sat down and used the small, pretty dessert fork to scoop up a bite of the chocolate concoction, his right hand cupped underneath to collect any falling pieces. He motioned for Kibum to open his mouth and the raven haired rapper complied. Their gazes stay locked on each others while Jonghyun fed his lover.

Kibum's soft lips smiled around the fork in his mouth. A pleased moan escaped from the back of his throat, reassuring Jonghyun of the pie's taste. Once he finished chewing, Kibum placed a large, wet kiss on his cheek.

“You're too adorable,” Kibum said and brushed the tip of his nose affectionately against Jonghyun's. “Now let's try out this pasta!”

----

The next morning, they were gathered in Kibum's grandmother's sitting room for breakfast. Jonghyun was finishing the last of his rice, forcing himself to eat even the last grain despite the abnormally large helping he'd received. Kibum sat cross legged, chatting about the new mall close by that he had been at the other day. Jonghyun watched curiously as Kibum's grandmother nodded along while looking slightly distracted.

“Kibum, would you mind watching over the house while I go visit a friend a couple towns over?” She finally spoke up once her grandson had finished describing his purchases.

Blinking, Kibum answered, “No. How long will you be away?”

Keeping her head raised high, but sneaking a sideways glance at Jonghyun, she responded, “Overnight, most likely. I thought you two wouldn't mind a break from this nosy old woman.”

“Don't feel like you have to leave because of us,” Kibum said, bottom lip sticking out.

His grandmother turned and she shared a look with Jonghyun. “I can't handle all your energy, it'll be a nice break,” she joked, returning her attention to Kibum, “As long as you think you can manage to entertain yourselves without your halmeonim around?”

A sly smile slid across Kibum's features. “I think we'll be okay.”

-----

Two hours later and Kibum and Jonghyun were standing outside, huddled together for warmth while waving at the cab quickly disappearing down the street. Once the cab, with Kibum's grandmother tucked safely inside, was out of sight, they hurried back inside to escape the winter chill outside. Once they had shed their outer exteriors of large coats and warm boots, they took in the silent house around them.

“So, does this mean she finally approves?” Jonghyun asked, wide eyes falling on his boyfriend.

Kibum shrugged. “I don't know.” Slinking forward, he wrapped both arms around Jonghyun's waist. “But let's enjoy this while we can.”

“I can't believe Jinki was right,” Jonghyun muttered, shaking his head.

Frowning, Kibum slapped his arm. “Why are you talking about Jinki right now when we have a whole house to ourselves?”

Chuckling softly, Jonghyun was quick to make up for his slip of tongue by scooping Kibum, who yelped in shock, into his arms. “Right, we have no time to waste!”

Needless to say, the torture Jonghyun had to endure during the trip was worth it. Before their vacation ended, Jonghyun was persistent on buying some of the expensive chocolate he discovered through Kibum's grandmother. When Kibum asked why, he just shook his head and said he 'owed Jinki.'

-----

Jonghyun was already waiting in the cab as Kibum embraced his grandmother in the doorway of her house. He'd convinced her to stay inside, out of the cold, but she demanded to see him to the door. It pulled at his heart, the familiar departing scene, and he didn't notice how he held his grandmother an extra length of time. Patting the middle of his back comfortingly, the small woman broke the hug.

“I can't keep you here all day,” she said, the glistening in her eye a dead give away to how she really felt.

Kibum could feel tears of his own welling up. For the life of him he couldn't figure out why this parting was so difficult in particular. “Thank you so much, halmeonim, for letting us stay here.”

His grandmother cast a look out at the waiting cab, the exhaust from it forming a vivid cloud of hot air against the cold morning. “He's a keeper,” she murmured, then reached up to pat Kibum's cheek lovingly, “He'll take good care of you.”

Kibum had to clear his throat to keep his emotions in check. “I'll call you when we get there, okay?”

She nodded. “Stay healthy, eat properly and don't forget your old halmeonim.”

“Always,” Kibum smiled bitter sweetly, “The same goes to you.”

She winked before urging him out the door. “Don't worry about me, Kibummie.”

Kibum laughed as he waved goodbye. “I will anyway!”
