Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis! That's what it is! Lucky, lucky me!  The pain varies between tolerable and unbearable depending upon what I am trying to do, but at least it is not permanent. I'm meant to stay off of it, use crutches, rest, do heat/cold therapy, do stretches, and take Advil, but we shall see.  I am not pleased. On the upside, our connectivity is ( Read more... )

Oh that's really bad luck. My mother found that shoes with decent arch support helped her and that wearing shoes with no heel aggravate the problem. No beautiful ballet flats for you!

Actually my doctor told me to go lie on a beach and drink Mai Tais, lol Pretty much just stay off your feet. It took mine a long time to go away, I'm talking a year or two. Best thing is find some really good shoes with cushioning and stay off your feet!

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear about it, I really hope that the swelling goes down soon. I cannot even imagine the pain you must feel.

I hope yours gets better faster since you're taking care of it right away. I did not take care of mine and that's why it got so bad. I would do calf stretches like this: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/stretching/SM00043&slide=2 , multiple times a day. You might not feel it in your calves but the tendons all connect.

Wearing a night splint helps if you can stand to keep it on at night. If you get really desperate, Crocs are pretty comfortable. I think they are as ugly as hell but I got really desperate. I got the least ugly of the basic clog style.
